The City of Corona has an exciting opportunity to join our Utilities Department as a Sustainability Supervisor. The Utilities Department is comprised of five divisions including Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Electric and Solid Waste. We provide a 4/10 work schedule (Mon-Thu) for most positions and rotating schedules for operations staff. Education/Training/Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in earth science, hydrology, water resources management, environmental sciences or a closely related field.

  • Three years of experience in a water utility; including two years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Skills/Abilities Select, motivate, evaluate and supervise staff and provide for their training and development.
  • Analyze operational problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend or implement effective courses of action.
  • Understand water conservation laws and regulations.
  • Understand waste and recycling regulations.
  • Understanding of recycling processes and waste management programs.
  • Assist in developing the annual Water Resources and Waste and Recycling budget, as well as any capital improvement project need requests.
  • Supervise, oversee, and perform research and statistical analyses on administrative, fiscal, personnel and operation areas.

The Organization The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and two Assistant City Managers. The City's total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2025 is $399.1 million with a General Fund operating budget of $209.6 million.
